    Ilfracombe and Barnstaple both offer a wide selection of pubs and restaurants to suit any taste. Here is just a small selection.

    Local to Watermouth

    • The Old Sawmill, Watermouth Cove 01271 882259
      Within ten minutes walking distance is the Sawmill. It offers real ale and hot and cold meals throughout the year. There are often special offers on meals during the winter season, such as two-for-one

    • Watermouth Cove Lodges
      Just the other side of the castle, within five minutes walking distance, there is a bar open to non residents which is open for drinks and bar meals during the peak season. 

    • The Yacht Club
      Within two minutes walk, actually at the Cove. Guests of Watermouth Cove Cottages are welcome on Friday and Saturday nights. Drink variety is limited and snacks only served, but the local conversation is terrific! The bar is staffed on a voluntary basis by members.

    • Ye Olde Globe, village of Berrynarbor
      Just a few minutes drive to this ancient pub, exposed beams offering good food and a selection of beer and wines.

    • Sandy Bay Hotel, en route to Combe Martin
      For a truly sumptuous meal, with spectacular views of the coast, eat here. We understand they have a carvery each Saturday. Excellent food.

    • The Castle - real ale pub with non smoking restaurant- CAMRA recommended and we endorse that whole heartedly! Open all day and has large screen for sports events and a skittles alley.

    • Simonsbath, Exmoor Forest: Situated in the middle of the moor. Steaks and bar meals

    • Staghunters, Brendon: Pub set in Lorna Doone Valley

    • Winsford Royal Oak: Thatched pub with restaurant and log fires set in the middle of the moor

    • Withypool: Royal Oak : Pub with restaurant and bar meals. Lovely drive across the moor, excellent reputation

    Right: Tarr Steps, ancient bridge on Exmoor

    Croyde : Frequented by the surfing crowd.

    Also, at Watermouth Cove Berrynarbor Post Office will deliver groceries to your cottage each day whilst newspapers can be ordered for delivery from Sue in Combe Martin.
